Driving KATEM’s Warehouse Operational Efficiency

Clarus WMS is pleased to announce its latest partnership with KATEM, a well-established UK and European haulage and warehousing provider. This collaboration combines KATEM’s nearly 30 years of industry expertise and Clarus WMS’s cutting-edge warehouse management technology. By implementing our advanced cloud-based WMS, KATEM is set to streamline operations, enhance service delivery, and support ongoing ambitions.

Getting to Know KATEM

KATEM, a family-run business founded in 1995, has become a trusted name in UK and European logistics. Specialising in haulage and warehousing, they offer stock control, pick-and-pack operations, and virtual warehouse management services. KATEM has built its reputation on providing a personal, customer-centric approach that reflects its family values. This commitment to tailored service has allowed them to build long-term relationships with their clients, delivering customised logistics solutions that meet their exacting needs.

Challenges and Choosing Clarus WMS

KATEM’s operational challenges were becoming more apparent as they grew. Their legacy system was nearing the end of its lifecycle and would soon be unsupported. This posed a significant risk to their business, as the system’s functionality could no longer keep pace with their clients’ evolving demands. Among the key challenges KATEM faced were:

  • Scalability: KATEM needed a system that could scale with its operations. Their legacy WMS needed more flexibility to adapt quickly to new customers and higher stock volumes.
  • Client visibility: As their customer base grew, so did the need for enhanced visibility and real-time access to stock data. KATEM’s clients required accurate, up-to-date information, which took a lot of work to provide with their existing system.
  • Automation needs: KATEM needed to automate billing and inventory reporting processes to reduce manual work and improve efficiency. Their previous system required extensive manual input, which was time-consuming and prone to errors.

KATEM evaluated several WMS providers but chose Clarus WMS for its cloud-based architecture, real-time tracking capabilities, and seamless integration with existing systems. Our WMS offered the scalability and advanced functionality they sought, including automated billing, barcode tracking, and enhanced reporting tools. These features address their current operational challenges and position them for future growth.

“Choosing Clarus WMS was an easy decision for us,” said Matthew Chaganis, Director at KATEM. “We were impressed by their cloud-native solution, which offers the flexibility we need to grow our business and meet the increasingly complex demands of our clients. The real-time data and automation features will significantly improve our operational efficiency, and we’re excited to see the impact this partnership will have on our business.”

Our Partnership

Our teams have engaged in strategic meetings to ensure that the deployment of Clarus WMS aligns with KATEM’s business goals and operational needs. The first implementation phase will focus on migrating KATEM’s existing stock management processes to the cloud, ensuring a seamless transition while minimising disruption to their day-to-day activities.

One of the key features that will be introduced is the automation of KATEM’s billing and reporting systems, which will drastically reduce manual work and improve accuracy. This will be followed by the rollout of enhanced stock visibility tools, enabling KATEM’s clients to track their inventory in real-time via the virtual warehouse portal. These early steps will set the foundation for further integrating our advanced features, including wave picking and advanced analytics, which will help KATEM optimise their workflows and deliver even greater value to their customers.

“This is an exciting time for both KATEM and Clarus WMS,” said Ben from Clarus. “Our system is designed to scale as KATEM grows, and the early stages of this partnership are all about laying a solid foundation for future success. We’re confident that our WMS will streamline KATEM’s operations and position them for continued growth and customer satisfaction.”

As KATEM begins to adopt Clarus WMS, it will benefit from increased efficiency, reduced operational costs, and improved client satisfaction. The system’s cloud-native architecture ensures that KATEM will always have access to the latest updates and features, keeping them at the forefront of the industry. This partnership is about meeting KATEM’s current needs and ensuring they are equipped for the challenges and opportunities of the future.

Clarus WMS is committed to supporting KATEM through every stage of this transformation. We look forward to a long and prosperous partnership that will drive innovation, growth, and exceptional service in the logistics and warehousing sector.
