Matthews Haulage Ltd. was founded in 1975. Over the years, the company has grown from a small operation using 35cwt Bedford vans into a “Rolls Royce” of the haulage industry. Matthews Haulage has doubled its facilities since moving to its 1.2-acre site in 1984. The company prides itself on offering top-tier service at competitive prices, utilising a modern, innovative fleet and highly motivated management team that goes above and beyond to meet customer needs.
A Shareholder Member of the Pall-Ex (UK) Ltd pallet network, Matthews Haulage plays an integral role in the daily movement of up to 18,000 pallets across the UK. This affiliation, coupled with their robust customer-centric approach, has established Matthews Haulage as a critical player in the logistics sector, trusted by businesses for their reliable, next-day delivery services.
In addition to their haulage services, Matthews Haulage offers secure ambient warehousing and storage solutions, with state-of-the-art technology and 24/7 monitored CCTV for enhanced security. These facilities support a wide range of B2B product companies in Hertfordshire and beyond, providing flexible storage options on short- and long-term agreements.
As Matthews Haulage prepared to move into a new warehouse, the need for an advanced warehouse management system became apparent. The company sought a solution to integrate seamlessly with its operations, improve data accuracy, and reduce manual input. After evaluating various options, Matthews Haulage chose our WMS due to its robust automation capabilities, user-friendly interface, and ability to customise workflows according to the specific needs of its business.
Our WMS is designed to revolutionise warehouse operations using handheld devices and label printers. A critical factor in Matthews Haulage’s decision was our ability to integrate with Qargo TMS. Although the system has not yet been implemented, this planned integration positions Matthews Haulage at the forefront of logistics management, offering enhanced insights and streamlined operations.
Additionally, integrating our WMS with Xero’s finance package was pivotal for Matthews Haulage. This feature allows seamless inventory and financial data synchronisation, streamlining the order fulfilment process and automating invoice generation. With real-time inventory and financial information visibility, Matthews Haulage can eliminate manual data entry, reduce errors, and improve overall efficiency.
Although the system has not yet been implemented, our partnership with Matthews Haulage is already laying the groundwork for future success. The anticipated rollout of our WMS will significantly improve inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and overall workflow management. Matthews Haulage is looking forward to utilising the system’s user-friendly features, which will guide their team through each step of the warehouse management process, ensuring consistency and accuracy.
